Walton Park-Fall Festival

Fall Harvest Festival at Walton Park on Saturday, October 2nd. 
Louisa Parks and Recreation has teamed up with the Mineral Business Association and the Town of Mineral to put together a day of fun and outdoor activities.  The Mineral Farmers’ Market will be moving to the park for the day, giving you a chance to buy local from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.  There will also be a craft show from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., and children’s games and activities from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Admission is free, although there is a nominal fee for some children’s activities. A wristband for unlimited activities can be purchased at the event for $4.  There will be pony rides, hay rides, a moon bounce, inflatables, face painting, and music by the Trongone Band.  The 2010 Louisa Idol winners and the Louisa County High School Jazz Band will make this a day filled with something for everyone.  For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Office at (540) 967-4420, or visit the website at www.LCPR.info

    LABP hosts Viva Las Vegas Casino Night this Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. at Tanyard
 
The Lake Anna Business Partnership is hosting this event in partnership with Tanyard Country Club on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Tanyard Country Club.  There will be music, dancing, a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, gaming, championship horse racing, a live drawing with table winnings and lots of prizes.
 
The dress code is business casual or Vegas attire.  A cash bar will be available, while music and dancing will take place in the “Stardust Lounge.”  In addition to gaming with professional style tables, there will be a Texas Hold’em Tournament and Best Vegas Entertainer Costume Contest.
 
You get $5,000 play money with your Viva Ticket.  Advance tickets are $40 per person/$75 per couple.  The cost is $45 per person at the door, or $80 per couple.  There are only 300 tickets available, so you are encouraged to get yours early by calling the Lake Anna Business Partnership at (540) 736-8218, or (540) 895-7012.  Tickets can also be purchased at the Tanyard Pro Shop, Louisa True Value Hardware, Mineral Pack & Ship, Dockside Realty and Lake Anna Design.
 
Proceeds will go toward ongoing projects to promote economic development and tourism for the greater Lake Anna area, including literature, visitors’ centers and signage on both secondary and interstate roadways.  For more information, visit www.lakeanna.org.

Monthly Movie NightLouisa Arts Presents Monthly Movie Night

On Saturday, September 18th, the Louisa Arts Center presents its first in a monthly series of Movie Nights.

In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, the Louisa Arts Center will present To Kill A Mockingbird as its first Movie Night feature.


All movies will be “Family Friendly” -G and PG-rated- and will be presented in the comfort of the Cooke-Haley Theater.  Enjoy top-rated movies, ranging from Classics, Academy Award winners, and animation on the large, wide-screen and state-of-the-art sound system.


Movies will begin at 7:30 pm.
Doors open at 7:00.
Tickets are on sale at the Box Office, By Telephone, and Online.
General Admission: $5 / Seniors and Students: $3.
